Abstract Artist, Douglas Fischer, masterfully blends color, light and luminosity to express emotions of happiness, hope, and peace.
One artist in particular, Douglas Fischer, has found a unique way to capture the essence of affirmative emotions from the elements of the universe that surround us.
Bold, colorful, yet uplifting and serene, the vivid colors and movement of Fischer’s art is captivating.
Not just for the contemporary home, his art is classically universal and works well in homes with transitional and traditional interior design styling. I know, because I have a large acrylic print from his Vari Colori Series, called “Pondering the Sky,” over a traditional brass, Restoration Hardware bar cart and it works beautifully.
According to Fischer, it’s taken many years experimenting with acrylic paints, colors, mediums, and metallic powders in innovative ways, allowing for the various pigments and metal particles to separate, flow, and combine.
He creates depth to his art by adding as many as ten or more semi-transparent layers, after each previous layer is dry. Metallic paint and metal leaf accents are also used where light and luminosity play with transparency, depth, and reflection.
Fischer’s art is available in a range of sizes. It can be purchased on canvas, acrylic, and metal, and is perfect for home or office. His prints on metal can be used both indoors and outdoors, making a beautiful addition to patios and courtyards.
