July 4th – Freedom Is to Be Cherished and Celebrated

Palm Springs: All-American July 4th Fireworks and Palm Springs Power Baseball & Fireworks. The Palm Springs Power stadium team plays the Palm Springs Collegiate League All-Stars at 6:05 p.m. Gates open at 8 p.m. for the 9:15 p.m. fireworks display. Stadium entry and seating is free. 1901 E. Baristo Rd., Palm Springs.

Palm Desert: Independence Day Celebration. Bring a picnic or purchase food from vendors. Lawn seating, so bring blankets and folding chairs. The National Anthem plays at 7:15 p.m., followed by the Swing Cats Big Band at 7:30 p.m. and fireworks at 9 p.m. Palm Desert Civic Center Park, 43900 San Pablo Ave., Palm Desert.

Rancho Mirage: Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa Fireworks Extravaganza. The fourth annual fireworks display begins at 9 p.m. Go early to get a good spot. Agua Caliente Casino Resort, 32250 Bob Hope Drive, Rancho Mirage.

Indio: Fantasy Springs Resort Casino’s Fireworks. Show up early. Fireworks blast off at 8:45 p.m. from the Eagle Falls Golf Course. Bring blankets and folding chairs. Enjoy the show from the Eagle Falls Pro Shop and parking lot. Eagle Falls Golf Course/Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, 84245 Indio Springs Parkway, Indio.

  • Palm Desert: Vista Point on Highway 74 is 5 miles up and a great spot to watch valley-wide fireworks shows.

Summer Is Here! Make It a Long, Tall Cool One!

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway—Cool-Off All Summer Long with a Tramway Pass

Passes are valid through August 31, and include unlimited Tram admissions, a 10% discount on additional Tram admissions (up to 6 in party), a 10% discount at Peaks Restaurant or Pines Café, and unlimited free parking. A Summer Pass is $80 for adults and $40 for children ages 3-10.

Big Bear Lake—Clear Skies, Fresh Water, Cool Temps

Big Bear Lake is a mountain resort with a fresh water lake seven miles long offering fishing, water sports, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, tours, a public zoo, a nine-hole golf course, seven campgrounds, and restaurants. It is a 1 3/4-hour drive from Palm Springs. Summer daytime temps average 80 degrees with nighttime lows of 45 degrees.

Idyllwild—Old Western Charm, Shops and Treats

Nestled in the San Jacinto Mountains among tall pines and sweet-smelling cedars, the small-town charm, shops, and restaurants make for a perfect weekend getaway. Art and Jazz Festivals are favorite summertime events. Daytime temps average low to mid-80s and the 50s in the evening. It is a 45-minute to 1-hour drive from Palm Springs.
