Donna’s Coachella Valley Entertainment Guide-January 2020

Donna Ambrose December 21, 2019

Wishing You and Your Family Good Health, Love, Peace, and Prosperity

Happy New Year Greeting

Buckle Up, 2020 Could Be a Bumpy Ride

A New Year is upon us and with a hotly contested and partisan Presidential Election on the horizon, we could be in for a very bumpy ride this year.

But there’s some good news too. The U.S. major stock indexes are at all-time highs, employment is up, and unemployment down. Our nation’s economy is chugging along at a moderate, but steady pace, and many people have become resistant to the media’s daily cycle of ‘the sky-is-falling’ breaking news stories. That’s not to say that there aren’t serious issues that need our attention, it’s just that our blood pressure doesn’t rise quite as fast or as high on daily news as it used to.

The Good Life

As for us desert residents and snowbirds, when the going gets tough, we get going with our friends to any number of fun-in-the-sun activities to give our minds and hearts a healthy, positive distraction.

To keep you on the road to bliss, Donna’s Coachella Valley Entertainment Guide provides you with a sampling of some of the hottest tickets and venues in Greater Palm Springs, with links direct to event box offices and schedules. Enjoy!

Welcome Back to High Season in the California Desert!

A week-long roller coaster ride of heartfelt emotions, mind-bending imagery, merriment and laughter, flashes of insight and inspiration—there’s nothing like a good movie!

The Palm Springs International Film Festival is one of the largest film festivals in North America, featuring dozens of new films, international features, and documentaries. With over 135,000 attendees each year, the film festival draws celebrities, movie-makers, and cinephiles for 12 days of events and film screenings featuring over 200 films from 78 countries. The films are shown in multiple venues throughout the Palm Springs and Cathedral City area including The Annenberg Theatre, Camelot Theatre (Palm Springs Cultural Center), Palm Springs High School, and local cinemas.

While the Gala is for A-list celebrities only, we mere mortals get to watch the glamour and glitz from outside the event as they arrive and make their way along the red carpet to their elegant dinner and award ceremonies. For movie buffs, this event is a must-see.
